Essential Info for Booking Your Mountain Point Snorkeling Adventure 

Navigating through the pristine Alaskan waters is a unique experience, and at Snorkel Alaska, we want to make sure that you have ample time to relish every moment. Our well-structured schedules and punctuality ensure you’re never rushed, and you get to witness the marine wonders in all their glory. Whether you’re a cruise ship tourist or an independent traveler, our time frames are designed to suit your needs and give you a seamless snorkeling adventure.

Prompt Check-In

Please be sure to check in at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. This will provide you ample time for a smooth registration process, ensuring you’re set for the adventure ahead.

Duration of the Adventure

Our Mountain Point Snorkeling Adventure is three hours from start to finish. For guests from NCL or those docking at The Mill in Ward Cove, please plan for an approximate duration of 4 hours. Within this time frame, you’re guaranteed at least an hour in the water. You may get up to 80 minutes depending on how quickly everyone gets into their wetsuits. 

While you spend a significant time underwater, the entire tour is a comprehensive package. Apart from the snorkeling, there’s changing time, in-depth safety briefings, relaxing hot showers post-tour, and the option to indulge in some delightful hot cocoa. Additionally, our shop boasts a range of souvenir options from hats to T-shirts and hoodies.

Location & Meeting Points

If your docking point is downtown Ketchikan, you can conveniently book a tour slot that’s 30 minutes after your ship’s arrival. All tours meet and depart from the Ketchikan Liquid Sunshine Gauge, which is near the Ketchikan Visitors Bureau at Berth 2. Regardless of which of the four cruise ship docks you’re at in Ketchikan, reaching the Rain Gauge is just a short walk. And don’t stress if your ship’s running a tad late – we’ll wait!

Departure Times & Transportation

While departure times are contingent on the cruise ship schedule, we assure round-trip transportation for all our guests. Located merely four miles from the town, our shop is a brief 10-minute bus journey, with Mountain Point situated just a mile further. Our tour starting times typically range from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. 

Guaranteed Return to Ship

For cruise ship guests, we value the trust you place in us. That’s why we guarantee your timely return to your ship after the adventure. Should there be any unforeseen circumstances, we commit to covering the porter expenses to ensure you’re safely back on board.

Booking System & Refund Policy

Our online calendar booking system is designed for your convenience, showing available dates and time slots. We understand that plans might change, so we’ve kept it flexible for you. You can opt for a full refund provided you notify us 24 hours prior to your booking. Please note that some dates might be blocked due to internal reasons.

Special Considerations for NCL Guests

If you’re an NCL guest or arriving at The Mill at Ward Cove, please factor in an additional hour for the free shuttle bus to town. For instance, if your ship is scheduled to dock at 7:00 am, an 8:00 am departure would be ideal for your snorkeling adventure.
