Diving in Southeast Alaska is fairly strenuous due to the additional equipment required for cold water. We also have access to deep water and there is a potential for strong currents. To dive safely here we require that you have Advanced Diver certification and previous cold water diving experience in a full 7mm wetsuit.
The diving in Ketchikan is truly world class. The wall at Mountain Point starts right at the surface and continues well beyond 100 feet. The dive requires very little surface swimming but we do have to hike down the trail with all of our equipment. This is a strenuous advanced dive and therefore it is not for everyone. Your reward is one the top beach dives in the Pacific Northwest.

Snorkel Alaska offers a one tank beach dive under the supervision of company founder and Master SCUBA Diver Trainer Fred Drake. Fred has been diving for well over 30 years and has been a PADI Instructor for 24 years. The dive can only be conducted at slack tide when the currents are minimal. Due to the ship port times it is not always possible to get a dive in during the slack tide. The dive takes approximately 3 hours and is all inclusive.
All of our equipment is top notch. We use Scubapro regulators and weight integrated B.C.'s. You will be diving in a wetsuit unless you bring your own drysuit. To book your SCUBA diving adventure please send a detailed email including your current level of certification, number of logged dives and a brief dive resume. If you are arriving by cruise ship please let us know which ship you are on and what day it arrives in Ketchikan.
