Snorkel Alaska

Mountain Point Snorkeling Adventure

Humpback Whale feeding at Mt. Point

This was so well organized, used every moment to inform people of how to put on suits, safety issues etc.  Never felt unsafe, always had one or more guides checking on us.  Informative especially because guides were so experienced, friendly and knowledgeable.  Pat H.

Sunflower and Pink Stars
Blood Star
This excursion was outstanding.  Our naturalist / guides were wonderfully knowledgeable & very accomodating to some in our group who needed extra help.  They were truly gracious, helpful and fun.  Highly recommended.  Thanks!  Nancy P.
Everything exceeded our expectations and they were high to start.  Equipment and facility were great but the guides were the best.  Patient with the guests, bringing creatures to the surface for us to see, helping us with anything and everything.  I would jump at the chance to take this excursion again.  Also:  Hot - there was no problem with being cool in the water.  We were toasty warm.  Karen M.

The entire excursion was extremely well run and very professional.  They had an excellent supply of equipment including prescription masks which is really going above and beyond.  The guides were knowledgeable and personable.  A+ + excursion.  Thank you!  Kathy W.
Our guides were very vivacious so early in the morning.  It made us excited about the trip!  Each step was thoroughly explained (wetsuits, snorkeling, etc.)  Throughout the adventure they showed us tons of marine life and explained each one.  Very interesting and lots of fun!  A true Alaskan adventure!  Thank you!  Mary Beth H.
Orca cruising by
Sunflower Star
This was an outstanding experience!  I have snorkeled many times before but the attention to detail and instruction worked for me.  It also seemed to work for another member of our party who said it was her first time.  The actual swim was stunning.  This is an experience not to be missed by anyone with an interest in snorkeling.  It's not cold!  And the knowledgeable guides made it very informative and enjoyable.  This guest's name was not provided.
This was the best.  You couldn't ask for nicer guides.  As beginners they took extra time special care with us.  Amy worked with me and my daughter the whole time and brought us in early when my daughter got scared.  Swimming with jellyfish and seeing sunflower stars, sea cucumbers, sea stars and anenomes was truly awesome.  I would highly recommend this!  Pat W.
Nudibranch on kelp
This was a top-notch tour.  The equipment was all in excellent shape and of the highest quality.  The guides made a potentially anxious experience into a fun, relaxing and enjoyable time.  They were friendly and respectful while behaving with competence and confidence.  Karl W.

Very friendly staff.  The excursion leader took the time to know everyone's name (when only told once).  I was very nervous as this was my first time and he made sure to pay close attention to me.  I would do this again and recommend it highly to everyone.  Julie T. & Bryan L.

Cruising into Ketchikan
Guide with Sea Cucumbers

We loved the Mountain Point Snorkeling Adventure in Ketchikan.  The guides did a fabulous job.  We learned so much about underwater sea life in Alaska.  The beautiful starfish that filled the ocean bottom were thrilling to see.  We spent over an hour in the water and felt safe and comfortable throughout our trip.  This was a wonderful experience and it will be delightful to tell everyone that we went snorkeling in Alaska!  Steve & Pam B.

Out of all the tours my wife and I did (3 total) the Snorkel Alaska was by far the most enjoyable time we've had in a long time.  All the staff of Snorkel Alaska were very professional and very personable.  They all deserve a very large pat on the back and a HUGE raise .  Thanks guys we had a blast on your tour.  Keep up the great work and don't change a thing about your tour.  It was GREAT!!!  Jason M.

My mom goes snorkeling!
Dressed for snorkeling Alaskan style
This is my mom, Joan.  I've been trying to get her to go snorkeling here in Ketchikan since the first year we started snorkeling on Norwegian Cruise Line.  She pretty much hates the water, does not like to snorkel and can't stand to get her hair wet.  I've managed to get her in the water in Trunk Bay, St. John and at Stingray City in Grand Cayman.  Last summer I finally convinced her to try it out in Alaska.  I took her out on a beautiful sunny day with an extremely low tide.  Her first comment after getting out of the water was "I wasn't cold"!
Here she is enjoying her own private marine life tour.  This is the leather star which has a wet leathery skin and it also smells like garlic!  My mom still lives in Fairfield, CT.  You'll find her working at various horse shows all across the east coast.  She also has her own Pembroke Welsh Corgi farm, Taichritia Corgis.
